Was once going to send a mare to Nuage d'Or (stood where the mall at Te Rapa is these days) and took one look at him and changed my mind. I later learned his stable nick-name was 'garage-door" which of course rhymed with his real name 🤣

PWJ
Monday Trivia Another stallion to identify - who am I ? Some clues: 1) As a racehorse I won 4 of my 9 career starts (from 10f to 14f) including an important handicap at York 2) I was born in Europe but not in the British isles 3) Four of my half-brothers were sires standing in locales as diverse as GB, Australia, Japan, Brazil and NZ (where my half-brother left a Gr1-winning 2yo) 4) My sire also sired a NZ Sires Premiership winner 5) I was duplicated in the pedigree of one of the leading 2yos in Australia last year 6) I stood in NSW near Denman

Born in Italy, his half-brother Idomeneo left top juvenile March Legend while his sire Never Say Die also left Champion Sire Mellay. Smart recent 2yo Profiteer carries a double cross of Sostenuto. Sostenuto sired the amazing Imagele (trained by TJ Smith) whose only defeat in his first 11 starts came when he fell in the Golden Slipper when 4/9 favourite. The versatile Imagele 12 months later won the AJC Derby (2400m) from Leica Lover and Grand Cidium !
