PWJ
ROUND 4 - Saturday August 26 We start the day with a ripper hurdle contest followed by the time-honoured Pakuranga Steeple then a rare 2400m restricted contest for the staying aspirants, an even R65 sprint and then the big boys and girls come out to play in the Foxbridge. Then it's on the plane to Sydney kicking off with a nice little even mares race followed by the two 3yo features where anything could happen. Then we head South of the border to round out the day at the cauldron of excitement - The Valley - with a couple of vital form-filled contests. That final race looks challenging. New table leaders The Magpies take on the woeful Chiefs (someone check on Jack please) where I'm expecting a Joker to emerge although the Waikato lads are surely not as bad as recent form might indicate. The Kauri Kats fresh from a home win last week now have to face off against the comp's top aggregate scorers - the unbeaten Ferdies - in what will be a juicy encounter. The 3rd place Blues face a determined Manawatu Turbos outfit (surprisingly 2nd last in the table) who boast a better than $400 aggregate than their opponents in what is an intriguing match-up while the side with the 2nd best aggregate - The Swamp Foxes - face no easy task against a Highlanders side who look to Bannockburn for inspiration hoping they don't get bogged down in the mud making them easy pickings for those sly Foxy ones. Six players remain unbeaten after 3 Rounds - 3 of them Ferdies - while Maria, Gee, Hesi and Max seek to end their losing streak. Hard to pick a Head-to-Head of the Round again but the Robert v Stevie N clash looks like a high-scoring affair as does the Ray v Moose HTH and the Highlanders v Swamp Foxes clash features a couple of ripper personal clashes with Jamison taking on Howie while MC and Rees meet in a closely matched shootout. Lastly the most serendipitous pair Pam and Geoff face off as well. Good luck everyone ! Remember you must have at least 6 different picks (of 20) for those who post after their opponent Please post on time. Let's have some fun and note the closing time... Close off at 10.35am (NZ time) - note early start! Races are: 1. Te Rapa R1 - 11.35am - Bridges Insurance Services Hurdle - $60k, 3200m, open hdl 2. Very entertaining LB ! The reality is you are on minus one after 3 weeks but please keep entertaining us. The Magpies would be folly to take you guys too lightly.

PWJ
I reckon I have isolated the problem... Chiefs mistakenly had Mad Monday at the start of the comp (not the end) and are still recovering... 1
