ROUND 13 - Saturday October 28

The penultimate Round Robin round kicks off with a small but tricky open sprint at Pukekohe Park then we head to Canterbury for a couple of wide open benchmark races, the first of those down the chute which is always fun. Then we nip over to The Valley for a real challenge - a million dollar race where they are all on debut !

Then it's back to Riccarton for the Southern feature of the day followed by the Pukekohe feature with some very smart 3yo fillies on display. More 3yo fillies battle it out at The Valley next up then it's off to Sydney where the 3yo stayers contest the Gr1 Champion Stakes followed by some talented girls in The Invitation and then of course the day's climax in the mighty Cox Plate.

This week's star match sees the top two teams of the comp - The Ferdies and Magpies - meet head-on. Only one team can play their Joker but will they ??? Just $241 aggregate separate The Swamp Foxes and The Blues who are level on points in what will be a torrid battle to establish a favoured position for the Final Round shoot-out for a finals berth. Magnificent Seven pair Pete and Black Caviar go head-to-head in this one - sure to be great battle.

The Kauri Kats are 13 points behind The Turbos but will no doubt be flouncing a Joker of some description as this is a "must win" match for their Finals aspirations. They DID triumph over the Manawatu lads last time, remember. There should be one or even possibly two Jokers emerging in the day's final clash where the Highlanders encounter the luckless Chiefs who can't make the Finals but can spoil a lot of fun for other teams - don't discount them !

Gee has the worst draw possible in his endeavour to break his duck as he takes on the comp's top scorer Howie. Still stranger things have happened. Is Howie due for a blip and Gee due for a landslide ?

Those looking for revenge after first encounter defeats (back in Round 6) in renewed HTHs are Heather, Gary, Max & Ray.

Lastly I would remind all Captains about Joker Rules, so work out your strategies with your team. It's quite easy to end up being unable to play your Triple Joker if you get it wrong.

Have fun and good luck everyone !

Remember you must have at least 6 different picks (of 20) for those who post after their opponent

Yep, it's been a long time since we've heard the dreaded "yee-ha !"
I think 'The Donald' was still President then.

But we all know that it's not a matter of if Gee will strike the big one . . . it's simply a matter of when.
And after a long, long, lonnngggg 12 weeks of 'outs', surely it will be lucky week 13 for Gee and more importantly, for his long-suffering team.
My money's on Gee this time, 'cos he surely can't get another week completely wrong.
The wily punters should go a double : Gee H2H / All Blacks 13+. 😉
And if you think it's beyond Gee, maybe cast your mind back to Prince Of Penzance in the 2015 Melbourne Cup . . . $ 86.70 it paid.
Be wary of the one you never saw coming. 🙂
