ROUND 3 - Saturday January 27

A bit of an unusual schedule on Saturday as we take in the first three races from Moonee Valley (currently a Good 4) before we commence the Karaka Millions card at a refurbished Ellerslie (also a Good 4 right now). After the 2YO Millions we duck back to Melbourne for a Gr2 WFA contest, then back to Ellerslie for the 3YO Millions and end the day with a tricky Class 6 handicap on the Sunshine Coast with plenty of form where just about anything could happen !

The top two sides after two rounds - the rampant Styx crew and the more snail-like Old Mate - meet head on with Old Mate at 25/1 to win ! We can only dream 😎. The Reapers have been unexpectedly rubbish so far while Showtime have shone but is that about to change as they cross paths in Round 3 ? The might Ms - Magic and Max Factory - separated by just two points each bring winning form into their battle. Industrial relations seem calmer now at the Factory with the staff noticing the Boss is putting his back into it at last but 4 witches and their cheeky cat may have something to say along these lines :Thrice the brinded cat (that would be Jammo) hath mew'd ! Maxbeth, Maxbeth, Maxbeth ! Beware Pamduff !

Lastly I expect a fiery showdown between Kaos and The Seagulls neither of whom I am sure anticipated they would be in the bottom half of the table after two rounds. On a personal note the big HTH fixture for the day is the all Magnificent Seven clash between Our Maizcay and Black Caviar. In the Magic v Max Factory battle the two top scorers Gee and Heather meet head on while an un-named eightsome will be seeking not to make it three straight losses. Should be a great day. Who will be celebrating with a Campari or a Cuervo under the Caloundra palm trees at the end of the day ?

Remember you must have at least 6 different picks (of 20) for those who post after their opponent

Just a courtesy message to you PJ seeing as I'm down to play against you on Saturday.
I'm away out of Auckland and away from my laptop now until Sunday, during which time I attend the wedding of Geoff's daughter.
Our Maizcay is filling in for me as Captain for Saturday, and will be providing a set of selections for me as well (so that you don't win by default 😊)
Thanks for this very fine comp, PJ, and good luck to you in your match on Saturday.
See you all next week. 🙂

One Styx team-member conspicuously absent from the list of the Magnificent ! 🙂
I'll be having a word to that team-member, give him a shake-up. We can't be having anyone dragging the chain. 😁

Have a great time at the wedding, Howie. In my current form you could do a Robert and pick before the fields are out and you would still beat me. Tell OM not to spend more than 47 seconds on his sub selections, please.... 🤣😏

A bit of Shakespeare is transpiring from the Poet of the Comps PJ...... some MacBeth reveals the folly of your ways .

  1. "First Witch: When shall we three meet again
In thunder, lightning, or in rain?
Second Witch: When the hurlyburly's done,
When the battle's lost and won."
    - William Shakespeare, Macbeth, 1.1

The witches are having trouble counting it seems as the Thunder of the Factory booms (max) , the Lightning Strikes,  and the winners Rain down upon them .

And their 'Team Cat' is not even Black ?   Better get the (black) paint brush out PJ , or 'Jammo' could disappear one darketh night in the witches Cauldron ?

The witches' cat is “Brinded” according to WS. That’s me ! No black moggy, that would be bad luck, LB

Well i'd be keeping an eye on Jamison this week . The MAGIC girls will be trying to Pull a 'Rabbit out of the Hat' this week to beat the Maxi's factory.

and if they can't find a Rabbit ......they might just be jamming Jammo 😁 into the hat 😎.  lol.

Com'on HEAT!! . (the Brisbane Heat just playing the big cricket 🏏 Final just now in Sydney) could be close and making me anxious.

The MAGIC girls will be trying to bring the Heat to the factory on Saturday.

BUT Sharne,Heather,Anita and Pam  Might need more than what they're getting here in the photo of their early 'Magic Form study' for Saturday ?? 😅

My word, those four Magic Witches are lookin' mighty tasty (one assumes cap'n Sharne took the pic). But this is no time for goin' easy on the oppo, teamies...full production efficiency is required at the Max Factory on Saturday.

MM aka cap'n Thunder

I took the pic you woofter. That is Sharne on the right ! 4 Witches, one cat. It is not rocket science.... 😹

just checking to see if the Brindling Thing is/was awake. We know how sleepy a feline can get, esp a pampered puss among those beauties...
