PWJ
Round 3 - Saturday Jul 18 Race 10 - Ipswich R91st - 9 Solar Star W-$9.60 2nd - 4 Jami Lady Q-$20.60 Scr: 1,3 3 CHIEFS (1st) $1602.80 3 points 2 HURRICANES (2nd) $1188.20 0 points So close but so far for the 'Canes ! They got the quinella (via TC) they needed but it just didn't pay enough with Punter Pete who also tipped the winner prevailing by just $10. John also found the winner in the last. Punter Pete was Man of the Match with opponent The Crucible MVP for the Wellington boys. Chiefs took a bonus point for a team profit. 760.20 Punter Pete 750.20 The Crucible 98.00 Jack 244.00 John 346.00 Ian 36.00 Virgil 62.00 Gee 98.00 Hesi 336.60 Stevie N 60.00 Porky 3 CRUSADERS (3rd) $1161.40 2 points 2 KAURI KATS (7th) $1133.40 0 points Like Lazarus from the dead the Crusaders pulled off the escape of the year with Tom and Rob bagging BBs on the zippy Zoustar to get up and nail Jen and Graeme respectively while Rex also bagged a BB to deny a bonus point for a higher aggregates to The Kauri Kats for whom Sharne landed a beaut BB quinella in the last to secure Match Star honours and post a huge score. Rex was MVP for the victors while no bonus points were earned. What a finish ! 227.00 Robert 80.00 Max 263.20 Tom 111.20 Jen 62.00 Craig 157.20 Rocky 236.00 Rob 230.00 Graeme 373.20 Rex 555.00 Sharne 5 FERDIES* (6th) $1909.60 5 (x 2 Joker play) = 10 points 0 BARBARIANS (5th) $571.60 0 points The Ferdies failed to score in the last - the first time today that happened - but luckily had it sewn up before then thanks to a great team effort spearheaded by Zac and Man of the Match Ashoka. Richie snagged the final quinella to secure MVP honours for the Barbarians. The Ferdies Joker play proved successful securing the maximum 10 points available thanks to the 5-zip margin and team profit. 790.20 Zac 33.20 Ziggy 558.00 Ashoka 249.20 Richie 195.20 Heather 149.20 Mardy 242.20 PJ 78.00 Pam 124.00 Maurice 62.00 Moose 2 BLUES* (8th) $921.00 0 (x 2 Joker play) = 0 points 3 TURBOS (4th) $1570.20 3 points Satin Socks loomed up in the straight but faded so the Blues hope of a successful Joker play evaporated. The Turbos not only held on to win but went to the line strongly achieving a team profit with a BB from Rees and a beaut BB quinella from the Blind Squirrel who took Man of the Match honours. Rees' BB saw him nearly catch Geoff - the only Auk on the final winner. Geoff was MVP for the Blues and did enough to deny the Turbos a further bonus point for a 4-1 margin. 450.00 Geoff 448.00 Rees 255.00 Howie 213.60 Gary 38.00 Pete 484.40 Blind Squirrel 98.00 Gordy 191.20 Ray 80.00 Roland 233.00 Steve P The Table after Round 2 1st 12 FERDIES* $3246.40 2nd 11 CHIEFS* $5069.40 3rd 8 CRUSADERS* $2756.40 4th 7 TURBOS $3220.00 5th 6 HURRICANES $3619.20 6th 3 BARBARIANS $1989.40 7th 1 KAURI KATS $3166.20 8th 0 BLUES* $2730.40 * joker played The Table got a shakeup today with successful Joker players The Ferdies leaping up 5 places to snatch the lead from The Chiefs who nevertheless defeated their closest rivals going in to the day but still lost the lead. The Crusaders' victory enabled them to hold station in 3rd and likewise the Turbos who won but stayed 4th. Defeat for the Hurricanes proved costly as they fell back 3 places while the Barbarians also lost a place in defeat. The Kats remain 7th after being run down in the last while the Blues misery of no wins or points continues as they continue to occupy the cellar. Still 4 rounds and as many Joker plays to come. Thanks everyone.

Globederby19
Nice game Geoff. I notice you covered some of mine but two winners with my outside the square ones just short of your more conservative 6. Still a nice total for us Turbos and points on the board . We have the makings of a Finals team here boys. Keep it up
JustPlodded
I can’t say I even wrote yours down Rees until after race 1. I figured with those open fields the chances of having less than 6 different were negligible so didn’t even check. But thanks for those roughies, boosted the old (well new actually) account quite a bit. But I have noticed that recently roughies often win in “competition pairs” if you follow my meaning. 🙄

I'm assuming item #1 on the team meeting agenda this week will be the number of common selections this coming Saturday. 10 perhaps? don't hold back, make it 16. Max also recommends Item #2 on the Agenda should be whether or not to risk your HairyCanes Joker against the Klueless Klawless Krying Kitty Kats. LOL MM PS No need to apologise for a bad at the office. It's a team game.
