Dreadful day at the office today for us Piko .........completely white-washed on our Joker play by Roland's Roughnecks on a day when finding winners proved too difficult for our alumni.
Congratulations to my Mighty Blues mates Roland and Gordy who starred for the Roughnecks, and Dino chiming in very nicely with his NZ BB early in the day paying very well. Even the 'Yeeha' fella got going late in the day 😁.
This must just about see the Roughnecks in the lead, or 2nd at worst .....a very impressive turnaround.
So where to from here for the Piko ? .... with Championship Winner honours now clearly beyond us.
Well we're what ya call 'nuisance value' from here on in ..... looking to take down those teams at or near the top-of-the-leaderboard. I think we can pull off a  surprise or two. 🙂
Hard luck today Richie, Tom, Geoff, & Hesi. Just one of those days.
Many thanks for today's entertainment, PJ. With the MX5 quickly coming back to the field this comp is wide open.
Joker plays crucial, as always, as we saw today.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, folks. 🙂

Well done team Crazy Horse on an obviously tough day for some. Jason you are are welcome to use your daughter any week you see fit, in fact the captains position is vacant, as  I have officially joined the Imperial Airforce along with a mechanical uppercut.   :classic_sad:.  Any point is better than none , so well done .

12 lines when we lose ........ it would have been 20 lines if we'd won.
Consider yourself spared, Rees. 🙂. You can head off to dinner early.

Round 4 - Saturday Jul 10

Race 10 - Caulfield R9

1st - 16 King Magnus W-$9.00

2nd - 8 Jumbo Ozaki Q-$39.80

Scr: 11,18-20

0 MX5 (1st)

$384.60

0 points

5 LOWDOWN (3rd)

$1103.00

4 points

Lowdown had it won before the last where everyone missed and they take two bonus points for a 5-zip margin starting to show their true talent. Graeme - the only MX5 to have more than one collect - was MVP for his side while Steve P with 4 winners was Man of the Match for Lowdown.

295.60 Graeme

477.60 Steve P

0.00 Max

82.60 Pete

20.00 Rob

129.00 Sharne

49.00 Rex

118.00 Maurice

20.00 Craig

295.80 Robert

3 HOT TODDYS (2nd)

$797.60

2 points

2 USAIN COLT (5th)

$905.40

1 point

Usain Colt came so close to turning the match around with a strong rails finish from "Jumbo" but it wasn't to be so the Hot Toddys held on for another win with Captain Maria their MVP. Gary was impressive tipping half the card to secure Man of the Match honours. No one tipped the final winner. Usain Colt took a bonus point for a higher aggregate.

173.00 Pam

98.00 Ray

132.00 Punter Pete

118.00 Stevie N

222.00 Maria

251.00 Ian

132.00 Heather

333.40 Gary

138.60 Midnight C

105.00 Ziggy

0 PIKO* (6th) 333.00

$333.00

0 (x 2 Joker play) = 0 points

5 ROUGHNECKS* (7th)

$946.00

4 (x 2 Joker play) = 8 points

Bye - CRAZYHORSE (4th)

$688.00

1 point

Mr Tipla never got into the finish dashing any hope Piko had of a comeback from the dead and neither side could find a winner in the last so The Roughnecks took an important 5-zip win doubling their 4 points with the Joker play while Piko came away empty-handed from their flourish with the Joker. Dino was Man of the Match for the victors while Richie was MVP for Piko. Jason and PJ earned the final dollars for Crazy Horse who took a point for coming 2nd on aggregate. Jason put up a good score for Crazy Horse MVP honours. Come in please Howie.....

20.00 Geoff

174.00 Gee

215.00 Richie

380.00 Dino

0.00 Hesi

143.00 Roland

0.00 Tom

180.00 Jen

98.00 Howie

123.00 Gordy

105.00 Blind Squirrel

166.00 PJ

0.00 Rees

341.00 Jason

76.00 Plovdiv

* Joker play

TABLE after Round 4

1st 10 Roughnecks $3056.80

2nd 8 MX5 $4641.00

3rd 8 Lowdown $3152.00

4th 6 Hot Toddys $3881.20

5th 5 Usain Colt $2939.80

6th 5 Crazy Horse $2733.80

7th 3 Piko $2856.40

The table certainly got a shakeup today with The Roughnecks charging from last to first with a very successful Joker play - well done Roland and team. Defeat for MX5 saw them slip to 2nd while Lowdown remain 3rd despite their comfortable victory. The Hot Toddys won but lost two places (!!) while Usain Colt lost but their bonus point enabled them to hold station in 5th. Crazy Horse took a point from their bye round but slipped back two places while defeat for Piko saw them take up tenancy in the cellar. Long way to go however.

Despite staying in third Lowdown looking good right now.

Great work team.

I was that close to playing our Joker today but probably paid our opponents too much respect.
