Round 2 - Saturday Jun 26

Race 10 - Eagle Farm R8

1st - 6 Away Game W-$4.30

2nd - 3 Exhilarates Q-$14.20

Scr: 1,13(L)

Subs: #6 then #9

2 PIKO (4th)

$1325.60

2 points

3 MX5 (1st)

$1262.60

2 points

Bye - USAIN COLT (3rd)

$808.80

0 points

Dramatic finish to this match saw the Piko's winning hope Exhilarates go down narrowly at the death however Hesi, Geoff and Tom had it as a BB with Geoff and Hesi adding quinellas while the winner was also tipped by Man of the Match Richie to just get Piko across the team profit line giving them a bonus point to add to that for a superior aggregate. Hesi got up to nail Rex denying MX5 a bonus point for a 4-1 margin. MX5's Rob, Graeme and Craig also bagged BBs in the last as their team clung on to win with Graeme narrowly pipping Rob for MVP honours for MX5. Terrific match ! Gary (with a BB) and Ray completed the scoring for Usain Colt - for whom Ziggy was MVP - who trailed 3rd on aggregate.

King of Hastings ran on well in the straight but was never going to turn the match around for The Roughnecks so Crazy Horse secured the win and added two bonus points for a 5-zip margin when PJ got up to head off Jen in the last with BBs also for Rees and Blind Squirrel with Plovdiv claiming his 4th winner. Jen was MVP for the Roughnecks who all missed in the last while Captain Rees was Man of the Match for Crazy Horse - hope you enjoyed that Xmas dinner !

119.20 Jason

3 LOWDOWN (6th)

$919.20

2 points

2 HOT TODDYS (5th)

$1122.60

1 point

Sharne got the quinella she needed in the last with her BB to reel in Heather and win the match for Lowdown but it was a close thing. Steve and Robert also ended the day with BBs for the victors while the unlucky Hot Toddys who had led since race 2 concluded their scoring with collects from Captain Maria (BB) and Heather. Midnight C was Man of the Match while Sharne was MVP for the victors. The Hot Toddys can console themselves with a bonus point for a higher aggregate.

31.20 Maurice

330.20 Maria

104.20 Steve P

358.00 Midnight C

311.20 Sharne

TABLE after Round 2

1st 5 MX5 $2608.80

2nd 4 Crazy Horse $1743.80

3rd 3 Piko $2167.40

4th 2 Lowdown $1622.00

5th 2 Usain Colt $1591.40

6th 2 Roughnecks $1560.80

7th 1 Hot Toddys $1834.80

MX5's win keeps them on top of the table but the chase is headed by Crazy Horse whose 5-zip win took them from last to 2nd while Piko's two bonus points saw them move up a place to 3rd. Lowdown's win also saw them rise two places to 4th. Usain Colt's empty-handed Bye round saw them lose two slots while the Roughnecks' heavy defeat dropped them 4 places. The Hot Toddy's last race defeat send them down two slots into the cellar but a loooong way to go.

Been out at the baptism of my grandson Ollie today here in Auckland, and in looking through the events race by race  I see that MX5 fresh off a top win last Saturday had control of our matchup for much of today.
But a great fightback from our Piko boys late in the day took the match right to the wire and earning a hard-earned valuable 2 competition points to match the points earned by the high-flying MX5.
A good day all-round then. Top efforts by our Geoff, Tom and Hesi  ...and in particular Richie with his outstanding
Man-of-the-Match performance.
Well done Maxi, Craig and team, comp leaders and an absolute force to be reckoned with this comp. Whether you can run away from the field like Incentivise does every start, well, the jury's out on that one 😄..suffice to say though that you're definitely the team in the zone.
Well done to you too Wuffie Wob in our personal matchup today, many thought that youcoulddoosit...and you did ! 😄
Inspired selection by Wob in the bush race at Eagle Farm, even more so by Richie with his BB ! 🙂
Have I left space and time for Rees's observations on the day's proceedings ?? 🙂
Sorry Rees ..... your pre-allotted allocation has been diluted  .....and in fact ...... has gone. Maybe next week, eh. 😉
Thanks for another great day's PJ Super Comp entertainment, PJ.
Winter racing ain't easy .....but it's always fun to watch and be a part of.
Best wishes to Sir Rex, hope he's ok, vital and particularly valued member of the PJ Comp community.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, folks.

Well done Lowdown.. and brilliant cat like pounce in the last Sharne 🙂

Hotty's ...  fantastic effort all day - and our total overall is one to be reckoned with, in the meantime.. I'm well acquainted with where the best vintages and Pinot are in the cellar and I've stoked the pot belly ...  let's celebrate Winter Solstice 😉

Cheers PJ 😉

Gutted by my nemesis and a beautiful lady. Well done Sharne.

Yeah, I know how you feel. I've got her next week. I have been at PJ to get that random name generator fixed , but I get her every time and lose every time. :classic_blink:. One tough cookie to crack.
