PWJ
Round 3 - Saturday Jul 3 Race 7 - Flemington R71st - 3 Token Spirit W-$3.50 2nd - 6 Cakewalk Baby Q-$29.70 Scr: 7 2 CRAZY HORSE (2nd) $302.00 0 points 3 LOWDOWN (4th) $427.00 2 points Bye - HOT TODDYS (7th) $1248.80 3 points Crazy Horse pulled one back in the last when Jason's BB got him up to defeat Maurice and deny Lowdown a bonus point while Plovdiv bagged a BB also. Lowdown's final collects came from BBs from from Sharne and Man of the Match Robert (too good for me today mate). Blind Squirrel was Crazy Horse MVP. No bonus points were earned. Captain Maria certainly chose the right match to take on with the Hot Toddys taking all 3 points on offer, their final collects coming from Pam (with a BB) and Heather. Punter Pete was a standout MVP for them. 70.00 Plovdiv 139.00 Pete 62.00 PJ 170.00 Robert 0.00 Rees 94.00 Sharne 100.00 Blind Squirrel 0.00 Steve P 70.00 Jason 24.00 Maurice 201.80 Midnight C 223.00 Pam 495.00 Punter Pete 194.00 Maria 135.00 Heather 3 MX5 (1st) $1647.60 3 points 2 ROUGHNECKS (6th) $550.00 0 points The Roughnecks had a couple of chances to turn it around in the last but 4th was the best Literati could do so MX5 held on. The Roughnecks drew a blank in the last with MX5's Rob the only selector of the winner with a BB. MX5 took a bonus point for a team profit with Max a dominant Man of the Match while Roland and Gee shared MVP honours for The Roughnecks. 289.00 Graeme 76.00 Gordy 536.00 Rex 194.00 Gee 70.00 Rob 86.00 Dino 38.00 Craig 194.00 Roland 714.60 Max 0.00 Jen 2 PIKO (3rd) $356.00 0 points 3 USAIN COLT (5th) $443.00 2 points Piko had been beaten by the penultimate race but pulled one back in the last to deny Usain Colt a bonus point as Geoff found the Kah killer to get up and nail Gary with bro Howie also bagging a BB to secure Piko MVP honours. Ian also nailed a BB in the last to take Man of the Match honours. No bonus points were earned. 59.00 Geoff 38.00 Gary 24.00 Hesi 76.00 Stevie N 38.00 Richie 97.00 Ray 103.00 Tom 76.00 Ziggy 132.00 Howie 156.00 Ian TABLE after Round 3 1st 8 MX5 $4256.40 2nd 4 Hot Toddys $3083.60 3rd 4 Lowdown $2049.00 4th 4 Crazy Horse $2045.80 5th 4 Usain Colt $2034.40 6th 3 Piko $2523.40 7th 2 Roughnecks $2110.80 MX5 established themselves as the team to beat in the Winter Comp as their win today takes them 4 points clear at the top. The Hot Toddys excellent effort from their Bye round rocketed them up 5 places to 2nd while Lowdown's win also gained them a place. Usain Colt won but remain 5th while Crazy Horse lost two places in defeat with Piko losing 3 as they went down. Defeat for the Roughnecks saw them slip down into the cellar. 7 Jokers to come in the next 4 rounds. 1

TooFast
Wow ...we Piko slid from 3rd down to 6th on the back of today's loss to the Usain Colt. A low-scoring affair today, where there were small margins in all 5 personal matchups. It was that closeness that created the interest for sure. Congrats to Ian and his Usain Colts, bouncing back to form nicely and getting in the decisive stride courtesy of Gerda at Hastings where all 5 of their alumni found the $3.80 favourite at a crucial time, with only the 2 Australian races to follow. The ray of light for the Piko is that there was serious consideration given to playing the Joker against the Usain Colt today .....and in hindsight I'm sure glad we didn't. So where to from here for the Piko ? Most likely Jokering up next Saturday for an all-out bid for glory against that ruffian roughnecks mob. That's right ...take on the self-anointed 'king' ...Gee. 😄 I'll put a case to our caucus. This comp is very, very close apart from the MX5 who have cleared out ...... any loss of form there and this comp remains open for any team to win this whole thing. Inspired Joker plays will be crucial, as always. Many thanks PJ for another good day's racing comp entertainment. Would have been a great day's entertainment .......only if we won. 😃 Some of us hope we never again in coming weeks see those fateful words from you in your prelude to the final race ........ ' Piko can't win'. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, folks. 😃 Rees...WAKE UP ! ..... you might be mssing something important. 😊 4

Maximus
Max is back at Bedrock after a BIG DAY at Ruakaka, where the turf meeteth the surf. Apparently, Flem R6 was quite pivotal in today's proceedings and the luvly PJ credited Max with a BBQ from #4,6 worth about $700 shekelbaums (what's 14 shekels among friends, eh Jen?) ...but twas not a BB or a BBQ just a fairly helpful $700+ result for the team .... Vroom Vrooooooom MX5 ....no doubt there will be a debrief tomorrow Nice work lads MM
