I like Line Up

Silly Ozzies, have one of the 'Best drivers Ever on track available ,and not getting a Pacing heats drive?. Anthony Butt.

Line Up being driven by old boy Binskin who couldn't drive a nail into wood.

Ant's prepared LINE UP to win the Vic and NSW derbies and you would think the owner (who had Wolf Stride with Ant's) would of kissed and made up , and engage the best driver at the meeting ??

However , They can just watch Anthony win the trot instead , all going well.

Very good horse Line Up and agree about driver. Hopefully the horse is given its chance .A real chance ability wise. And go MM, should blouse them from that draw and Ants said he blew a bit after the last run so should be cherry ripe this time .

Haven't heard the lowdown on MM yet. Not like him to throw in the towel over the sprint distance. Hope all is well with him.

Outside horse gets up, what a well deserved win for Spirit in 2nd day of heats. 3 wide the last lap too.

The Bathurst 1000 motor race is on this weekend. (delayed from Oct because of NSW covid lockdown)

Luke McCarthy has taken advantage of them being just 'up the road' last night, and put some 5 litre V8 engines in his team of pacers , and just put the foot to the floor. wow. that was awesome.!!!!!

Team McCarthy taking all 3 Pacers heats brilliantly !!!, and a 2nd Alta orlando  (Robert and John Dunn's horse )went great too. 'Gassed' early but still just a metre off the win, when 2nd to 'Spirit' the Sweet Lou stable-mate.

1.50.6 Track record to EXPENSIVE EGO too. amazing. some can't go that fast while still on the truck getting to the track.

Looks like a McCarthy Trifecta in the Grand Final then ? with all that horse-power.

Hi Rees.

Here is the latest from Adam Hamilton.

Classy Kiwi trotter Majestic Man’s NSW Inter Dominion raid was thrown into chaos with a mystifying flop on night two of the series at Bathurst.

While he won without really impressing on opening night, Majestic Man was sent out a $1.40 favourite from gate two and all looked good when held-out the speedy Caligula to lead over 1730m.

But it was clear he was in some trouble down the back straight when classy veteran Tough Monarch quickly loomed alongside and even headed Majestic Man.

He punctured quickly and dropped-out to finish 36.2m from the winner, Lotsmuscle, in sixth spot. The five trotters he beat home all galloped at different stages.

Trainer-driver Anthony Butt remarked briefly after the race that Majestic Man “never felt himself this time.”

he didnt even seem himself getting off the float and had to be driven hard to lead - vets will check and see how he is but short turn around to Newcastle and another long trip - might be turning the page but will stay for racing in new year when maybe some other kiwis go over like bolt for brilliance - like they say - thats racing! we have been thru that all before - way back when I raced Castletons Mission he "bolted" in one of the heats - staggered hom 5th from memory and not sure how Michael House got him up again in the week before the final and he was just beaten by Take A Moment in the final so miracles can happen. we may need one

Anthony Butt will hopefully work a plan to get MM back on track looking for the Interdominion title. Maybe give brother Tim a ring who knows about winning Interdominion trots . Lyell Creek and TakeAMoment with 2.

QUIZ Day question for today:

Tim Butt winning not just with Trotters in Lyell Creek and Take a Moment , but also won for New Zealand with an American pacer MR FEELGOOD at the Gold Coast.  defeating Blacks A Fake the local hero chasing 4 Interdominion Grand Finals in a row . The cheek of it !!!!! fancy beating Blackie in his own Backyard. ? very rude lol.

Question : Tim Butt has qualified a heap of pacers for the Grand-finals (winning that 2009 Gold Coast one beating Blackie by 1/2 neck)  nearly all driven by brother Anthony.

so Name ANY OTHER TIM BUTT trained horse from NZ , that has made an Interdominion Grand final. I can think of at least 6. but if you remember just One even, throw it in for a point !!!!!!!!!!!!!

As Skippy the Bush Kangaroo use to say shaking his head, “ dit, dit, dit”.
Double R rolling behind a mobile, rest of the field still circling behind the tapes!

And the mobile is getting into gear now in readiness for the first race at Cambridge at 6.04pm. " Pay ya money, take ya chances". It is a maiden trot.

Good luck everyone!!!!

Excellent work by Robert once again. BUT (Butt) you have missed the year 2000 GF 3rd placegetter DoubleR ????   lol..... so that's a 8 point penalty. lol........

FOREAL running 5th  in 2006 in Elwick Tasmania as well.

I Went down to see the Queenslanders go and see some family and wasn't disappointed !! Blacks A Fake (that's him on my moniker) winning his First of 4 titles in Tassie !!! Go Nat.!!  and a baby faced Luke McCarthy , with the first horse he trained ran 3rd in the GF with SLIPNSLIDE . Luke was a QLDer in early days . no wonder he and Todd turned out so good. lol.

15 years later he looks set to get the First prize at Menangle this year for his first Interdominion Win  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just preparing you for the shock of Robalan being beaten up by the great Lyell Creek team over coming weeks.😉

HAPPY ASSET does gain you a point !! for a great 3rd at Moonee Valley in year 2000. (Yulestar was 4th for Nz with a sign of things to come in Brisbane the following year)

points tally with Double R suffering a ''minus 8' , but gaining a 'plus 1' for Happy Asset is ..........

(Josias 4 pts, GlobeDerby 3 pts, Blackie, Enteebee and DoubleR all 2 pts )

Loved this horse. One of those real battlers that won his way up the grades and won some big races in the top division. Real gritty horse with plenty of Meadow Skipper blood in the sire line and a some trotting blood in Great Evander in his distaff side, along with Globederby blood.

Here's one for you Globe !! what a magnificent photo this is of a Globe Derby grand-son.

We should rename Double R,  as 'ROBERT DERBY' the sire of this 'free legged' horse in photo. The very first one to ever break the 2 minute barrier in Australia or New Zealand .

Robert Derby considered one of the 'best gaited ' pacers of all time (sure shows in his outstanding son here)

Robert Derby was bred and raced 100 years ago by Mr A G Hunter , and they still run the famed Hunter Cup in his name to this day.

If Double R Robert or Globe (or anyone in first) can name this Beautiful Horse a point is scored.!!  A son of this horse won an Interdominion Final as well as hot favourite. ? another point up for grabs if you can name him.

Get off the grass LB.

The horse is Lawn Derby. The first pacer outside America to pace a mile in under 2 minutes at Addington in 1938.
