You sure Robert. I distinctly remember it being a trotter. I stand to be corrected, but memory fades after a while.lol

Hi Rees,

The memory does fade when are both over 120 years old now, so it will be a race to our 125th?

At Readville, Massachusetts on August 27, 1897, Star Pointer became the "Pacing King" by going the mile in 1:59 1/4, the first harness horse ever to beat 2:00. His last campaign was in 1899, after which he broke down and was retired to stud in Columbia, Tennessee, where he died in 1910

Get off the grass LB.

The horse is Lawn Derby. The first pacer outside America to pace a mile in under 2 minutes at Addington in 1938.

What a beauty he is from  all those years ago!!! .

I was flat out to get anything to run 2 minutes with hopples on, 1/2 a Century later lol.

Incidently ,  the son of Lawn Derby that won the Interdominion off 24yards,  in Sydney 1952 , was AVIAN DERBY who was the first Horse in Australia to break the 2 Minute barrier in a time trial at Harold Park 14 years after his sire created that Immortal moment at Addington as you have said , of 1.59.4 in 1938.

Also found this in OZ news - Dr Argyle advised that the scope of Funky Monkey NZ revealed mucus in the mare’s trachea, whilst Robyns Playboy NZ displayed evidence of an upper respiratory tract infection. Both withdrawn from series.

Trainer’s representative Anthony Butt also reported to Stewards this morning that Stable Veterinarian Dr Andrew Argyle had examined Majestic Man. Dr Argyle advised that upon scope Majestic Man had displayed signs of mucus but nothing that should prevent the gelding from further competing in the Inter Dominion series. Blood tests were also taken and the results should be available tomorrow.

8.TRIPLE EIGHT NZ 22

9.MAX DELIGHT 20

Good to see these 2 sneaking into the field so far, with some Points.

They recently 'Quinella'd the prestigious Victoria Cup , knocking off 'King Of Swing' (3rd in that race) who is the Interdomnion Favourite and leading on points so far.

So that gives some hope of Nz and Oz connections of those 2 horses, that McCarthy can get beaten after-all.

knocking off 'King Of Swing'

Id like to see Spirit knock off KOS in final. But last time I saw ALL 3 of them race in G1 they team drove & as Spirit the 3rd tier distinguished his chances by allowing KOS the 1/1 while he was taken back in field.

Also like to see MM bounce back in final. Read an Oz journo said he thought he was "unfit" lol. Unfit, doubt it. More like

a. tired horse. b. didn't back up c. sick horse d. off day - we all have them.

Answer was C - sick horse. (with a low grade lung infection)

On HRNZ here is the update.

Majestic Man's NSW Inter Dominion quest is back on target.

After a big scare at Bathurst on Wednesday night, co-trainer and driver Anthony Butt gave the star trotter the thumbs-up today.

"He seems good today. His bloods came back not looking too bad, just a low grade lung infection by the look of things," he said.

So, Majestic Man can continue his series, albeit in a challenging heat at Newcastle on Sunday night.

You're on the board Karrots ! with the QLD champion Blacks A Fake , who won 4 Finals.

ENTEEBEE sweeps to lead with a blistering run with double Champions Beautide , Gammalite and Hondo Gratten and triple Grand Final winners Our Sir Vancelot and Im theMightyQuinn.

New points total is ........  with Robert getting a LAWN DERBY photo clue point last night. and his "Tim Butt Grand finalists" points re-instated after a successful protest.

Juniors Image , Stella Frost

A point for Craig with Junior's Image from WA being disqualified 5 days after his Addington 1971 Interdominion GF win for caffiene. Leading WA horseman Phil Coulson, getting a hefty 7 year DQ sentence, so went fishing on trawlers. Stella Frost promoted to 1st Place.

4 more DQ's are up for grabs !! in the quiz still (3 of them in NZ)

smoken up

A point for Enteebee as Smoken Up ( in this beautiful photo  ) charged home with some extra additives on board that stewards didn't like at the Auckland Interdominion GF 2011.

The little champ I'm Themightyquinn on the outside there with white sulky,  promoted to 1st place for Gary Hall Jnr. WA.

The 2 Obscured horses are the GF winners from the previous 2 years!. Blacks A Fake (Nat 3rd) and Mr Feelgood (Luke McCarthy 5th) Luke looks cranky but should be grinning this year with a BIG chance of his first Interdom victory !!)

Tim Butt having trained Mr Feelgood for NZ , when he won defeating Blacks A Fake at GoldCoast GF 2009 earlier.

Bret Armagh - from 3rd to Hondo Grattan when there was a big smash

A hard one !!, but you cracked it . well done ! a 'nobbled' horse the trainer said (as did Phil Coulson with Junior's Image)

MARTINA H  is in-correct , as she was disqualified for excessive galloping over the concluding stages when she had the race shot to bits too. 3 lengths in front and rolled into a gallop.

(Quiz was looking for positive swab DQ's sorry)

points up-date .

( Enteebee  14 pts , Double R  11pts,  Globe Derby and Josias both 4 pts,   Blackie 2 pts , Karrots and Craigos both 1 pt)

Com'on Robert!! .  no handicap. you can join in as reckon you will remember the last 2 disqualifications for a Interdom GF positive swab in your vast knowledge-bank.

Clue for everyone except Enteebee (with 6 hour handicap for excessive galloping)

Clue is they were both in the same Interdominion Grand Final run in New Zealand.
