To win-

The Desperados need:

an Atishu-Zaaki quinella in that order for Mike and Pete AHIPE for Pete

The Reapers need:

New Mandate to win for Tom

OR

a Huetor-Zaaki quinella in that order for Tassie AHIPE (unlikely)

The Believers-Kelly's Heroes match too hard to predict due to the scoreless deadlock between Roland and Trotslover. Their last race picks are (best bets for both):

Roland - Huetor & Kolding

Trotslover - Zaaki & Atishu

If Roland can win that countback then Wrinkles can win it for The Heroes with new Mandate or Gordy with Huetor

The Dream Team can't win

The Coyotes held on narrowly to win and just denied The Reapers a bonus point for a superior aggregate with both sides just falling short of a team profit so no bonus points were scored. All bar Tom on the final winner with BBs for Hesi & Maria while Ray was Man of the Match for the victors.

Trotslover bagged a BB on the winning fave in the last to roll Roland and ensure a win with a bonus point for the 4-1 margin for The Believers for whom Robert (also with a BB) and Smiler also scored taking them past the team profit mark for a further bonus point. Heather and Gary scored the last wins for Kelly's Heroes who suffered an unsuccessful Joker play. Wrinkles edged Gary for Heroes' MVP honours while Blind Squirrel was Man of The Match for the winners.

Atishu couldn't make the late, great run the Desperados hoped for so Max Factory held on to win taking bonus points for a team profit and 4-1 margin. Only Max Factory pair Jen & Max missed the winning fave in the last with BBs added by Pam, Sharne, Pete & Mike. Harewood with 6 winners was Man of the Match for the victors while his unlucky opponent Maurice was MVP for The Desperados.

The Ramones had it won before the last where their day was completed by Sarah snagging the quinella to reel in Ian and give her team a 5-zip win and two bonus points. Richie also scored in the last while Ziggy and Stevie with BBs plus PJ rounded out a dismal day for The Dream Team. Captain Ian was MVP for the losers while Richie was a dominant Man of the Match for The Ramones. The Union Jacks had a fine day - why couldn't they play like this earlier ?? - taking all the points on offer for a team profit and superior aggregate against the other two sides with Tonka putting in a mammoth performance with nearly $700 from 8 winners ! Geoff (with a BB), Jack, Punter Pete and of course Tonka completed their scoring.

Table after Round 17

Despite some crazy results today there were no changes on the table with the top 4 sides all losing. Defeat for the Dream Team sees their Championship hopes evaporate. Despite losing The Desperados go into their final match against Kelly's Heroes clutching a Triple Joker while The Reapers (still with a Joker to play) will be looking to repulse a hugely in-form Max Factory outfit who could be the key to deciding the Championship. The Ramones vs Max Factory battle for the Wooden Spoon saw both sides reap 4 points today so that will all come down to the final day also.

1st 41 Reapers $19,819.00

2nd 40 Kelly's Heroes* $20,840.20

3rd 36 Desperados* $18,918.00

---- can't win the Championship below this line-------------------

4th 35 Dream Team*^ $16,561.20

5th 28 Coyotes^* $20,626.40

6th 27 Union Jacks* $19,668.00

7th 27 Believers^* $18,467.00

8th 19 Ramones*^ $17,428.60

9th 19 Max Factory*^ $15,609.80

^ Triple Joker play

Is it compulsory to play your 2X joker

It appeals to the somewhat warped sense of humour that exists within the Reapers, to be able to say we won without playing either joker

Precedent is that it is automatic, you cheeky bugger !
