Wow .... that man Rex, the 'Magnificent One' has done it again !
BB @ $60 !
Following on from his BB @ $50-something about 3 weeks back.
We don't see Rex every week .... but of course he's always worth the wait.
Well done, Rex ! 🙂

How about we rename him "The Mighty Quinn", because we aint seen nothing like.

Holy mackerel Batman, and please don't tell us your "secret", part of the tension build up to each week is the expectation of another Rex special, a smack in the face to another hapless opponent, and a stiff finger to the statistician. 🙃

Blackbookers go further ahead with Instant Celebrity while Night Raid helps

No Eye Deer pull one back with River Night or Love Sensation and draw level with Annavisto or Jenni's Rainbow.

Mozzie Monster will put Blackbookers further ahead at $5.20 or less but at $5.30+ No Eye Deer pull one back

OLE KIRK!!!

Had to be, would never have forgiven myself had I not taken this horse

Kirk is my eldest son's name, a name I laboured over for 3 months before finally selecting.

Early this morning, his fiancee gave birth to their first, a daughter called Quin, by caesarian section......ouch

Well done Pumped ,some nice totals and got the chocolates ,with a nail biting finish to a great contest. Commiserations Superiors a great comeback with Sharnes, Humidor making me sweat all the way up the straight with a great war horse run and not good for the ticker.  Another great team effort guys , well in commission now and with "Daylight" in our sights.

Thanks PJ for the updates and commentaries, it really adds to the excitement.

Well you've got to hand it to the 'Daylight' ....Comp leaders and we can certainly see why ..... comprehensive 4-1 win today as a result of another very strong team performance.
Congrats to John, TC, Ian, Ray & Pam ... you're gonna be awfully hard to head off in this comp ...though of course there's still a ways to go.
Rex 'The Magnificent One' gave us 'Too Fast' a big thrill today with his $60-1 BB ! What a magnificent aggregate Rex has scored in just 6 matches .... I think we'd be hard-pressed to find anyone in PJ Super Comp history to have amassed the aggregate that Rex has in the first 6 rounds of a Comp. And that is even after he had the handicap of me picking for him in Round 5 ! 🙂. Thanks for the 2 Comp points you earnt us 'Too Fast' today Rex...with great backup from Robert unlucky enough to have been matched up against a very much in-form TC.
A big shout-out to Pam who alerted us to Rex missing a BB prior to comp start-time. No it wasn't the 60-1 winner, it was the Aussie BB missing. Great sportswomanship, Pam. It's contestants like you who make PJ Comps the great comps that they are. Hard but fair, and making it all good fun.
Thanks very much for another great day's entertainment, PJ. Very much appreciated.

Round 6 - Saturday Sep 26

Race 10 - Caulfield R8

1st - 10 Russian Camelot W-$1.50

2nd - 2 Humidor Q-$8.40

Scr: 4

4 BLACKBOOKERS (2nd)

$1142.60

3 points

1 NO EYE DEER (3rd)

$657.00

0 points

Neither The Chosen One or Mr Quickie yelped so the Blacbookers held on for another win - well done team even if I wasn't much help. The winning fave was tipped by Blackbookers PJ (with a BB), Richie and Maurice as well as BBs for No Eye Deer's Gordy and Stevie. Ashoka was No Eye Deer MVP with Midnight C Man of the Match for the Blackbookers who took a bonus point for the 4-1 margin.

305.00 Maurice

91.00 Jen

319.60 Midnight C

4 DAYLIGHT (1st)

$1694.80

1 TOO FAST (5th)

$2141.60

2 points

Mr Quickie was Mr Slowy today so Daylight held on to win with everyone bar Too Fast duo Gee and Rex on the winning hot fave with BBs added by Robert, Pam and impressive Daylight MVP John. Rex was a massive Man of the Match which helped his side immensely to two bonus points - for a superior aggregate and a team profit with Daylight also taking two - for a team profit and a 4-1 margin.

420.00 Ray

229.60 Geoff

172.00 Ian

90.00 Howie

30.00 Pam

1365.00 Rex

2 SUPERIORS* (7th)

$1086.20

0 (x 2 Joker play) = 0 points

3 PUMPED* (4th)

$1293.20

2 (x 2 Joker play) = 4 points

Pete's Russian Camelot beat Ziggy's The Chosen One to settle their personal duel -  but in winning the race it put paid to any chance of a Superiors win. The winning hot fave was tipped by Superiors Steve and Pete (with BBs each) and Mardy (with a BB quinella) as well as Pumped players Blind Squirrel (BB quinella also), Rees (BB) and Moose. Steve P was an impressive Man of the Match with 6 winners while Blind Squirrel edged Gary for Pumped MVP honours. No bonus points were earned but out of the two Joker plays it was Pumped that came out on top doubling their points tally.

238.60 Mardy

369.40 Gary

496.40 Steve P

284.20 Moose

263.20 Punter Pete

389.60 Blind Squirrel

29.00 Sharne

221.00 Rees

59.00 Pete

29.00 Ziggy

0 MAXISQUILLIONS (6th)

$669.00

0 points

5 REAPERS (8th)

$1151.00

4 points

Amazingly the Maxis could still have won it in the last but Mr Quickie never yelped so The Reapers held on for a big 5-zip win bagging two bonus points for the margin. The final winner was tipped by Maxis trio Georgy, Heather and Max (all with BBs) as well as all 5 Reapers with BBs added by Tom, Roland and Hesi. Georgy was MVP for the Maxis with only Reapers Man of the Match (and his opponent) Jack posting a higher score.

59.00 Heather

209.00 Hesi

91.00 Rob

279.00 Roland

280.00 Georgy Boy

298.00 Jack

130.00 Graeme

235.00 Craig

109.00 Max

130.00 Tom

* Joker play

Table after Round 6

1st 18 Daylight $7446.00

2nd 13 Blackbookers* $6432.40

3rd 13 Pumped* $5979.20

4th 9 Too Fast* $7984.00

5th 9 No Eye Deer $6255.60

6th 7 Reapers $4725.60

7th 5 Maxisquillions* $5978.00

8th 4 Superiors* $5719.60

Daylight's win today allowed them to extend their lead margin by another point. The Blackbookers' win and bonus point enabled them to hold on to 2nd spot with Pumped's Joker-fuelled win taking them up a place to 3rd. Too Fast lost but gained a place thanks to Rex and their two bonus points. No Eye Deer's defeat saw them slip two places to 5th while the other losing sides - The Maxisquillions and Superiors also lost a place, the latter now finding themselves in the cellar. The Reapers big win saw them exit the cellar and leap up two places - well done those guys !

Thanks for the game today Maxis, hard fought, hopefully we are starting to hit our straps, but Mr Quickie could still have seen us beaten.

Nice work today Reapers, a repeat of that next week with our joker play, would see us potentially jump to 2nd or 3rd.  Ideally sitting on third going into the play offs will be just fine.  Remember the poison chalice of the minor premiership, even though the format is more in favour of the winner this time, the pressure is just too much for some, as we have seen in the past.

Thanks again, as always PJ, for the job you do with these comps, long may they continue
