PWJ
Geoff is currently looking at a $234 return with Bells 'n' Bows which would give him 11 points, not quite enough to catch Howie but maybe the quinella with Petain might get him there. Even the reverse quinella might be enough but less likely. Richie would need Universal Thief to beat Shamusu Sho to have the best chance but it looks like he could fall short. Howie odds on fave to take it but hey this is Gilgandra and anything could happen.....

PWJ
FINAL POINTS TABLE CHRISTMAS - NEW YEAR CHAMPIONSHIP Despite failing to take a point today (losing his HTH with Gordy), Howie had enough of a lead to hold on as his only two rivals Geoff (also a nil return) and Richie (a valiant late surge to pick up 5.5 points) faltered. Punter Pete - who tipped half the card today - stole into 2nd spot with a 29 point haul today while Richie just held on for 3rd half a point ahead of Von Smallhausen (5th today) and Geoff. TC's great score today saw him finish fast into 6th spot with the scorer fading to 7th. Thanks for playing everyone. Next week a two day one off comp on successive Magic Millions Saturdays. TooFast
Thank you my friends for your kind words of congratulations. It's been a long time between drinks, but the racing gods were kind to me this time around. I'll be savouring the success for sure, because we all know well that one week you can be the rooster ....the next week you can end up a feather duster. After being consistently right amongst it for the first 7 rounds, today was a bit of a "damp squib" (both literally and figuratively) for me, but fortunately I'd done a bit of a 'Kotare Chief', and had built up a sufficient lead that it was going to be very, very difficult to be caught. Many, many thanks to PJ for this latest instalment of his brilliantly entertaining and immaculately administered comps. Year-round pleasure for all of us who take part. Life would be a whole lot less fun without these comps, that's for sure. I can't wait for the next comp, and in due course I'm imagining the return of a lethal-looking .'Mighty Blues' line-up. Rees is sound asleep now, giving me a very clear message, but before I sign off just a word of congratulations to the bro Geoff for his sterling performances right through and for being such a good sport with all the good-natured 'banter' flowing this way and that right through the comp. Congrats also to top place-getters Punter Pete, Richie and Von Smallhausen whose performances were epic right through. Thanks again, folks. 🙂 Edited January 3, 2021 by TooFast

How(ie()ever, Max always speaks Truth to Power, so I now add my personal hearty CONGRATS to you for this brilliant win in a very difficult Comp - so many distractions could've got in the way (and clearly did affect some of us), but your ability to keep your eyes on the prize, sidestepping the Boxing Day Sales and the left-over trifle, the explosive arrival of the New Year, and the slings and arrows of Sibling Rivalry ... ...mate, you turned up Trumps and can bask in the well-deserved Glow of Victory. Well done. MM 1
