not exactly the Captain's innings i was looking for on a big day !

Hoping I can get off the duck-egg in the last.

My teamies have done well, though .... got us to the brink of a team win.

We may come out of this in front if the final race behaves itself. ☺️

Good luck in the last, everyone.

I think your guys are in a world of pain, Rees.....

As an addenda to that , if Dynamites, four chances dont get up we should stay ahead on dollar total for 4th place.

If Sikandarabad wins then we both win and we win.

The Fat Lady hasnt sung yet. Im just warming up her tonsils though.

Well done Bro, got another one up on me.

Not one of my most memorable days, but my team has to be congratulated on getting us this far. Thanks Richie, Ashoka, Rex and Paul, been a pleasure having you guys in the Team.

It's been a great comp, Rees, and you and your team have been a big, big part of that.

You've done yourselves proud.

Like you and your team, we 'Too Fast' s are also gonna be on a well-deserved siesta, and also you just like you and your team we'll be back again bigger and better than ever.

Great comp, and well done to the Final 4. Job well done. Top teams, great players.

0 (x 2 Joker play) = 0 points

3 DYNAMITE (4th)

$791.00

Dynamite had 4 chances to ensure a win and Finals qualification and they nailed it care of Ziggy tipping the Japanese raider. It was enough to get Dynamite past UTR's aggregate and deny them a bonus point. Congrats guys ! You left it late ! The win also secured Ziggy MVP honours for the victors while Captain Pete was Man of the Match with 5 straight winners.

4 FIVE-O (5th)

$1532.40

Cascadian plugged on late in an attempt to save La Bodega's bacon but it wasn't enough as Five-O secured a final spot with John passing Ashoka to extend their margin to 4-1 for a bonus point to accompany the other bonus point for a team profit. Paul was MVP for La Bodega with 6 winners and their only player to score in the last. Punter Pete's Derby bonanza returned him Man of the Match honours and the day's top score.

291.00 Richie

572.60 Punter Pete

224.00 Ashoka

265.00 John

479.00 Paul

232.60 Hesi

4 ANIMAL KINGDOM (2nd)

$1574.20

4 points

1 THE RUSTLERS*  (7th)

$878.20

0 (x 2 Joker play) = 0 points

Fierce Impact and Forty Stars fought out the finish and either horse ensured a victory for AK but the winner alone guaranteed them a 4-1 success and The Minor Premiership as a result with both Rob (with a BB) and Captain Max (with a beaut BB quinella) getting past their opponents and adding enough $$ to also secure a team profit to match UTR's points tally but with a better aggregate. Graeme also bagged a BB in the last while Gary was the sole scorer for The Rustlers who put up a great fight in their final match, with Maurice their MVP. Max was Man of the Match playing a great Captain's knock although he left it late.

305.80 Moose

0.00 Ray

384.00 Graeme

37.00 Brian

115.00 Heather

344.20 Maurice

317.00 Rob

$613.40

0 (x 0 Joker play) = 0 points

4 FARTOOFAST*  (6th)

$1363.00

4 (x 2 Joker play) = 8 points

Fartoofast finished strongly in the last with Howie, Jack and Robert all nailing BBs on the Nipponese raider which got Jack past Gee and earned the Fartoos a bonus point for a 4-1 margin. It was a close thing though as Fifty Stars, narrowly beaten would have won the match for The Wild Bunch had it got up. Roland edged Gee for MVP honours for their side while Robert was once again Man of the Match with 5 of the last 7 winners. Fartoofast's Joker play saw them take 8 points away from the match.

218.40 Gee

247.00 Jack

41.00 Gordy

233.00 Geoff

220.00 Roland

160.00 Howie

0.00 Jen

403.00 Robert

134.00 Dualis

320.00 Steve P

FINAL TABLE

1st 32 ANIMAL KINGDOM* $15,725.60

2nd 32 UNDER THE RADAR $14,801.20

3rd 30 FIVE-O $15,359.20

4th 29 DYNAMITE $14,559.20

--------- finals qual mark--------------

5th 27 LA BODEGA $16,575.80

6th 26 FARTOOFAST $15,134.40

7th 14 THE RUSTLERS $11,165.20

8th 8 THE WILD BUNCH $10,608.00

Animal Kingdom's last gasp win not only qualified them for the Finals but also secured the Minor Premiership for their side. Under The Radar's loss (Fifty Stars would have seen them win 4-1 !!) mean't they slipped back to 2nd in the final table with Five-O's impressive victory taking them from 5th to 3rd. Dynamite's win saw them hold 4th fortunately as defeat would have seen La Bodega pip them for a Finals berth on aggregate. Fartoofast left it too late with the day's biggest points haul taking them to within 3 points of a qual spot.

Today we say goodbye and a huge thank you to the 20 wonderful people who make up the Wild Bunch, Rustlers, Fartoofast and La Bodega sides. Without your good attitude and competitiveness we wouldn't have a comp. All of you take a bow and we will see you back soon.

We 'Too Fast' contingent salute PJ the racing comp maestro, another brilliant comp giving so much excitement and pleasure to so many. The drama of team match-up results turned on their head late in the piece a perfect demonstration of why PJ Super Comps are so good.

We salute also Maxi and the 'Animal Kingdom', Pete and the 'Under The `Radars', John and the 'Five - 0' s, and Ian and 'The Dynamites' - you've all played superbly and fully deserve your places in the play-offs. The very best of luck to you all as you strive to advance even further. Special acknowledgement of the 'Animal Kingdom' - the Minor Premiers. Great result 'AK's, and very well done. Maxi, you're clearly doing plenty right.

I thank my 'Far Too Fast' "teamies" Jack, Stevie P, Robert, and the young fella Geoff - as good a team as I've played in over many, many years of PJ Super Comps. Top guys all of them, sharing lots of messages`behind the scenes, sharing tips, and coming up with many, many winners. We thought we'd need a 5-0 result with Team Profit today in order to make the play-offs.  As it transpired we got a 4-1 result and a Team Profit - (8 comp points from the Joker play) ....great stuff guys in a pressure match ....  when it turned out that even the 10 points wouldn't have been enough to get us through. But we went close, and we can be happy that we've been part of a wonderfully fun comp, and we won our last 5 matches on the bounce - bang, bang, bang, bang, bang ! Dynamite ! 😀. Makes you wonder what we were doing in the first round ! 😕

To all teams departing today just as we are, La Bodega, The Rustlers, The Wild` Bunch, you've all been brilliant. You can hold your heads high !

Thank you so much PJ. You're an absolute legend. Much appreciated. Your comps are the very best.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, folks.

Morning all.

The sun has arisen in the Kingdom of the Animals, where all is well after a big night that followed another huge Day of Drama in PJs Super Duper Spring Comp

Mustelid Media crosses 'live' now to the Scene of the Party ( where the cleaners are fighting their way through Moet Mountain) for a belated Press Conference.

Cue music (The Tokens, The Lion Sleeps Tonight😞 A win-Moet A win-Moet A win-Moet A win-Moet ... A win-Moet A win-Moet A win-Moet A win-Moet ..

Captain Max: "Right, quiet, please. Foxy One, turn that flocking music off, my head hurts. Thank you. And big thanks to our opponents The Wild Bunch, you guys played outta your skins to take the lead off the Animules in the second half and Maurice, TC and Gazza had us worried big time going into the last. Commiserations.

Animals, you rock ...that was a remarkable comeback yesterday, Rob, Mooseman, Graeme, Heather great stuff ....Heather, get off the table, it's a bit norty of you rocking on while captain Max is speaking) ...where was I?
Who'd have thought we'd finish like Phar Lap in the last? A tad embarrassing, actually, to snatch 4 Comp points like that and snaffle the Minor Premiership trophy off UTR at the death, but no, PJ, you can't have it back until next year at least. .. and we know full well that no-one remembers who wins Minor Premierships! Heather can have it for being the winningest Animal of all over the 14 Rounds.

Our thanks to all 20 players in the 4 teams who didn't make the cut - we Animals have enjoyed immensely all our encounters with you -  and the good-natured ribbing between bouts - esp tough on Howie and Rees's teams. Look after yourselves, and back plenty of winners ... all the very best until we meet again at another SuperDuper Comp.

PJ, thanks again for all your work keeping us posted. Lord knows how you do it in such quick time ...( I'd have posted a few updates myself yesterday but got waylaid at Pukekohe, then had to drive home.)

Time to go. The cleaners are here and they've got their eyes on that last bottle of Moet ....

Mustelid Media advises the following, regarding the previous Release

And big thanks to our opponents The Wild Bunch ...

This should, of course, have said THE RUSTLERS.

captain Max admits to being DEEPLY EMBARRASSED and more than a little sheep-ish. Proof that a MOET hangover can kick like a MULE.
Coulda bin the whiskey, mighta in the gin, coulda bin the three or four six packs, I don't know ...
