Stars and Stripes made 2 Interdom grand Finals after winning heats. For Aus we'll match him with Trigger , SMOKEN UP who did the same thing. Smoken Up disqualified for a positive after being first to the post in Auckland Interdomion , but was clean (i hope) to win a couple of Miracle miles and had some NZ Cup placings as well. Like the great Aussie Interdominion winner SPRINGFIELD GLOBE , just going back a little too far and these boys would be burned off by the assembled 'S' field . Other 'S' horses that have failed nomination are the 3 x Queensland horses who all ran a Grand Final placing , BUT were not good enough to win much else of note . I was there that night to be amazed by her prowess, and everyone expected big things as she had won the FFA the previous week in Nz record time. It was very wet that day for Rowe Cup and she won by many lengths leaving behind Stormy Morn and Scotch Tar amongst a string of browns cows at long intervals .......
