3 DESPERADOS*** (4th)

$813.20

2 (x 3 Triple Joker play) = 6 points

Uncle Bryn never yelped and Tuvalu faded and no one found the final winner so the Desperados held on for a successful Triple Joker play victory. Maurice was Man of the Match for the victors in a low-scoring affair while PJ was Dream Team MVP.

1-4 down with two races left, Kelly's Heroes came back with a whirlwind finish with Gordy and now Roland the heroes. Roland bags a BB on the Begg bolter to run down the Coyotes MVP Rees and take Man of the Match honours - a real Captain's knock ! The Coyotes all missed again in the last. The last race windfall saw Kelly's Heroes take a bonus point for a team profit.

3 REAPERS* (1st)

$1433.40

3 (x 2 Joker play) = 6 points

Those poor Believers suffer another last-race reversal as they all missed for the 3rd straight race as Tom bags a beaut BB on the Harry Coffey longshot to bludgeon Blind Squirrel and win it for The Reapers, securing Man of the Match honours in the process. Lightning Blue was MVP for the losers. The Reapers also captured a team profit in the last, doubled with their Joker play to return 6 points which will help their overall lead. The Believers luck has to change soon.

Table after Round 8

The Reapers Joker-fuelled win today increased their lead from 3 to 7 points at the top of the table. The Desperados successful Triple Joker play took them up two places to 2nd pushing their victims - The Dream Team - down two to 4th. The late win for Kelly's Heroes saw them hold station in 3rd while the Union Jacks remain 5th after their Bye round.

The Ramones win took them up a place pushing the defeated Coyotes down a spot. Max Factory and The Believers both lost and fill out the remainder of the table although The Believers will play their Joker against The Factory crew next week so that should be an interesting match.

Just one round remains in the first half of the comp with Kelly's Heroes now able  to play their Triple Joker after being passed by the Desperados today - did they plan that ? The Dream team are the other side with a regular Joker in the pocket so The Ramones will be in their sights next week.

1st 27 Reapers*# $9328.60

2nd 20 Desperados#* $8517.80

3rd 18 Kelly's Heroes* $10,023.20

4th 18 Dream Team# $8486.00

5th 13 Union Jacks*# $8787.80

6th 11 Ramones*# $8729.60

7th 11 Coyotes#* $8706.00

8th 5 Max Factory#* $5696.40

9th 2 Believers# $8450.20

# - Triple Joker play
