ROUND 6 - Saturday September 9

The first NZ Premier meeting of the season awaits us at HB with a wide open R65 to get us underway then the young boys do battle with a few big names fronting up in the Sir Colin meads. A tricky R75 follows with 13 of 17 acceptors on their seasonal debut then the young star fillies do battle in one of the early Spring features - the Gold Trail. NZ's first Gr1 of the season follows with a slew of stars on display.

Then we nip down to Melbourne for a white-hot 3yo fillies contest. After that it's up to Sydney for a Ming Dynasty headed by two star Dundeels and the Darley 3yo darling up against a talented lineup. More 3yo talent on display in the Run To The Rose then it's back to The Valley for a lightning fast McEwen featuring Kiwi star Imperatriz and Everest holder Giga Kick and we conclude the day in a Feehan Stakes that looks to have a dozen winning chances !

Table leaders The Magpies take on the The Ferdies in a mighty head-on clash featuring the two top-scoring teams in the comp. The second-placed Blues entertain a resolute Swamp Foxes crew who boast a nearly $500 better aggregate while only one point separates the Turbos and Kauri Kats in a match that may well go down to the wire. Lastly, the two bottom sides - the woeful Chiefs and the hard-done-by Highlanders face off in the battle to be fought on the steps of the cellar. There could a double-headed Joker play in this one.....

After just four rounds only Maurice, Stevie N and Moose are unbeaten and two of these face off in the Ferdies/Magpies encounter where Stevie and Moose seek to take each other down. Meanwhile Moose seeks to hand out more punishment to the comps most picked-on cat (competitor) in Jamison. Gee is the only winless player after 5 rounds and seeks to play tough against Tonka. In the same match Robert has the unenviable task of taking down Magnificent Seven head commando Howie.

Have fun and good luck everyone !

Remember you must have at least 6 different picks (of 20) for those who post after their opponent

What's this PJ .?? Are you still using the 'woeful' adjective after the scintillating Immaculate conception point earned least week .Think that was our virgin point for the season and should be rewarded with a kinder description ?  (although the scoreboard still being parked on Zero Points as the Chiefs score,  does not reflect this improvement 🤣)  GEE even had that rare one race winner although it didn't help him get a head to head win up over Gary or the mighty Pure Steel  either. But it helped contribute to a 'Immaculate point 'scored 🏆, and progress is being made 😄.

Perhaps you could name it the 'Progressive Chiefs' to instill some team confidence ?  as we go see if there's anything up the kilts of these 'Soon to be Hard-done-by' Highlanders . could rightfully be the "Bottom' side ? 😂

LB, if you slay the Highlanders I will never refer to the Chiefs as woeful again, agreed ?

haha 😆 thank you for that kind offer. I think the Highlanders will be using us for a bit of Caber tossing practise at the PJ Highland Games , but we'll have to knuckle down for a bit of 'ye olde Highland games Tug-Of-War' anyway.

Rob is the Wee Bonnie laddie i'll drink ma Scotch too this week .

so will have to......

get on the JOB, to take down that laddie ROB, from that Un-ruly MOB, so onto the ladder we Chiefs might LOB, unless my picks aren't worth Two BOB 💰🍺

Looking forward to a grand day's racing on Saturday, with quality in the Hastings races as well as super quality at Rosehill and The Valley.
In the comp I'm up against very recent 10/10 champion Robert who by virtue of that will obviously go into our match-up as a warm favourite.
From the Highlanders' viewpoint hopefully I can pull off a surprise to aid the cause of a team that is very much looking to turn its fortunes around.

Here's what I'm going with :-

R1)              3x6
R2)              3x4
R3)              3x10
R4)              2x7
R5)              9x16       Best Bet NZ
R6)              7x8
R7)              3x5         Best Bet Aus
R8)              3x8
R9)              1x2
R10)            11x13

Good luck to you, Robert.
And of course wishing the very best of luck to my Highlanders team-mates.

Thanks for another excellent PJ comp, PJ.

Could be a bad omen for Saturday match for you PJ ...  and Hesi and the FerDEEs , as the Magpies have squeezed home against the 'Dee's' of Melbourne tonight in front of 92,000,000 crazy fans so Collingwood get to the Prelim final (last 4) as first team there. so The Magpies are flapping lol 😆.  Do you Think you and Hesi can handle that NZ variety of Ian and his tribe of Maggies ? images.jpg.334158bb17c92dd8b93899d353e5ee0b.jpg
