Round 5 - Saturday Jul 30

Race 10 - Morphettville R8

1st - 5 Extremely Lucky W-$3.80

2nd - 9 Calla Dream Q-$103.00

Scr: nil

5 Reapers*** (3rd)

$1147.40

4 (x 3 Triple Joker play) = 12 points

0 Ramones* (2nd)

$726.40

0 (x 2 Joker play) = 0 points

The Reapers had it sewn up before the last where only No1 Plumber and Tom (who added a BB) found the local winner. The Reapers reaped a handsome return from their Triple Joker play while The Ramones Joker adventure ended empty-handed. Porky was Ramones' MVP and unlucky to draw Match Star Heather.

311.20 Heather

250.60 Porky

3 Schitt's Creek (1st)

$927.20

2 points

Schitt's Creek thought they had won it in the penultimate race before the protest interceded but they made sure of the win in the last where The Wombats all missed as Graeme and Our Maizcay found the Clarken winner and the former was able to push past the scorer for the HTH win and the team victory. Well played Graeme and SC. Our Maizcay was Schitt's Creek MVP only going down by $2,20 to Man of the Match Tassie Tiger. The Wombats took a bonus point for a higher aggregate.

1 Wolf Pack*** (5th)

$1141.80

0 (x 3 Triple Joker play) = -1 point

The Puppet Masters had it won before the last where they failed to score for the 4th straight race as Jack & Wrinkles bagged BBs for Wolf Pack, whose Triple Joker play proved wildly disappointing resulting in a one point deduction for failing to score any points. Jack with a huge total, was a very dominant Man of the Match while Ian was MVP for the victors who took a bonus point each for a team profit and a 4-1 margin.

2 More Moet (7th)

$1305.80

Pete (with a BB) and Maurice scored the final $$ for winners Drink! but they were denied a bonus point (although they did take one for a team profit) when Rob bagged a BB to race past Maurice at the death although it wasn't quite enough to get More Moet across the team profit line. Rex (picks by Max I think) was More Moet MVP while Captain Pete was a very impressive Man of the Match for the victors.

The Table after ROUND 5

The Reapers highly successful Triple Joker play today swept them to the top of the standings demoting Schitt's Creek who nevertheless claimed a last gasp victory but still fell to 2nd. An unsuccessful Joker play by The Ramones saw them slip back to 3rd  while The Puppet Masters remain 4th despite a comfortable win although they are now 3 points clear of the bottom half ruck.

Drink! won and gained a place at the expense of Wolf Pack who suffered a one point deduction after a disastrous Triple Joker play while More Moet and the Wombats both lost and remain at the foot of the table. Two rounds to go with three Triple Jokers and 4 Regular Jokers to play.

1st 19 Reapers^ $5182.00

2nd 17 Schitt's Creek ^ $4830.20

Well done to the Puppet Masters, you outsmarted the Wolf Pack today.

A great score from Jack helped us get a decent team total which was the only positive on the day.

My fault for not playing the triple joker last week.

Ziggy, when you got 0 last week I knew that wasn’t going to happen this week and you were bang on with your best bets today.

The Wolves will have their appetite back next week.

Thanks for the match Richie and the Ramones.

You know, I didn't want to play our triple joker against you, as you have a good team, but leaving it, would have potentially, almost certainly, invalidated it, as we have Moet and the Wombats in the last 2 weeks and they are both last and second last.  You guys were a bit off your game today, so it was fortunate for us.

Great team effort today Reapers, thanks, everyone scoring consistently well.

Be wary the 2 cellar dwellers though, been known to hit form late in the comp

Thanks again Peter for another great afternoon's entertainment
