Okay I'll give this a go based on King of Sparta as fave ahead of Mileva. If that doesn't happen then disregard all that follows...

Wily Wombats helped by King of Sparta or Mileva

Wolf Pack helped by Felicia, Scallopini or Aysar

Puppet Masters* helped by Scallopini

More Moet go further ahead with King of Sparta (must pay $5.10+ or Mariamia complete the Q) or Mariamia (must pay LESS than $7.90)

Drink!* helped by Mileva or King of Sparta

Reapers go further ahead with Scallopini (must pay $4.80+ or King of Sparta complete the Q)

Schitt's Creek pull one back with Mariamia

Ramones*** go 5-zip clear with Mileva

To win-

Puppet Masters need:

Think We're Due to win for Roland

OR

a Polanco-Mayfair Spirit quinella in that order for Ziggy

Ramones need:

Polanco to win for Moose

OR

Here To Shock to win for Moose & Tom (4-1 win)

OR

Aiguilette to win for Tom

OR

Mayfair Spirit to win for Richie (must pay $6.20+ but LESS than $6.90!)

Drink! need:

Dirty Deeds to win for Pete & Blind Squirrel

OR

(possibly) a Polanco-Turbeau quinella for Punter Pete & Sharne

Wily Wombats can't win but can cut Wolf Pack back to 3-2 with Polanco or Swiss Hero

Round 4 - Saturday Jul 23

Race 10 - Caulfield R9

1st - 20 Here To Shock W-$4.40

2nd - 6 Polanco Q-$21.00

Scr: 5,12,13,18(L),19

Subs: #20 then #14

2 Schitt's Creek (1st)

$874.80

0 points

3 Ramones*** (3rd)

$1198.20

3 points (x 3 Triple Joker play) = 9 points

The Ramones salvaged what could have been a disaster with Moose bagging a beaut BB quinella to gall op past Graeme at the death and secure a successful Joker play. Gary also scored for the winners as did Tom - with a BB - who was only prevented a HTH win by Our Maizcay getting the winner off the sub from the late scratching of roughie Beltoro. Another 3 points for the Ramones just denied ! Gary just pipped Tom for Ramones MVP honours while OM's sub assured him Man of the Match by a narrow margin. The Ramones 9 point haul, aided by achieving a team profit in the last, will put them as serious contenders for the overall comp.

144 Steve P

82.40 Richie

355.80 Our Maizcay

346.40 Tom

97.80 Graeme

233 Moose

1 Drink!* (2nd)

$720.60

0 (x 2 Joker play) = 0 points

4 Reapers (4th)

$938.20

3 points

Drink! had a couple of opportunities to snatch it in the last but neither materialised and they failed to find the final winner so their Joker play proved fruitless. The Reapers took a bonus point for the 4-1 margin with Smiler bagging a beaut BB quinella in the last to take MVP honours and unlucky not to catch and also to draw Man of the Match Maurice.

97.80 Blind Squirrel

139.80 No1 Plumber

484.40 Maurice

422.80 Smiler

93.40 Pete

143.80 Heather

3 Puppet Masters* (5th)

$538.80

2 (x 2 Joker play) = 4 points

3 More Moet (8th)

$1177.20

2 points

The Puppet Masters needed quinella finished 2nd-3rd but Roland ended up on the sub with the late scratching and snagged a BB quinella to down Gee and win the match for The Puppet Masters ! More Moet although defeated at the death salvaged a team profit in the last care of BBs for Rob, Rex and impressive Man of the Match Max. Their higher aggregate also got them another bonus point. Roland was MVP for the Puppet Masters, two of whom never troubled the scorer.

0 Midnight Caller

803.80 Max

1 Wily Wombats (6th)

$867.00

0 points

4 Wolf Pack (7th)

$1685.60

4 points

Wolf Pack had it won before the last where their final collects came from Jack (with a BB) and Stevie. They took bonus points from both a team profit and 4-1 margin. Pam was an impressive Match Star - all her wins coming at the 'Naki while Judas was Wombat MVP. Too good for us today Wolfies and you too Steve. Keep that unbeaten run going.

The Table after ROUND 4

Three Joker plays today resulted in plenty of action on the table as the Ramones defeated the table leaders - Schitt's Creek - to close within a point of the top dogs and moving up one place in the process. Victory for the Reapers elevated them one spot to 3rd while Wolf Pack's big win took them up 2 places to 5th with both Jokers intact (as have the Reapers). The Puppet Masters late win elevated them a place while defeat cost Drink! 4 places and the Wily Wombats (now gurgling in the cellar) slipped two spots. More Moet are finding form moving up one place to 7th despite not winning today.

1st 15 Schitt's Creek ^ $3903.00

2nd 14 Ramones^ $4050.20

3rd 7 Reapers $4034.60

4th 7 Puppet Masters* $3415.40

5th 6 Wolf Pack $4306.40

6th 5 Drink!* $3890.20

7th 3 More Moet^ $3620.20

8th 2 Wily Wombats* $3695.40

^ Triple Joker played

* Joke played

The wolves had a nice feed of wombat today.

Pam and Jack hit form today, which I predicted, Wrinkles backed up from last week, while Stevie is on a hot streak carrying on from the last comp.

I knew Gos was never going to let me off with a soft win, so well done.

So thanks PJ and team, good luck next week.

Poirot has confirmed my suspicions.

We are looking for a  suspect looking slightly dishevelled, smelling of drink and vol au vents.

Outstanding today Maxi!
