NPC Spring Super Comp - Round 11 - Sat Oct 14

ROUND 11 - Saturday October 14

We start the day at The Bay with a couple of tidy restricted staying contests followed by a R75 mile then the black type program kicks off with the Open Sprint - a decidedly tricky-looking race - and then the final NZ race is of course the Livamol.

It's a pity we can only cover 5 races from Oz with so many terrific contests available but I have tried to pick the 5 best which include the Kosciuszko, the Caulfield Guineas and of course the mighty Everest. That all important final race this week is the King Charles which on face value looks like a Mr Brightside benefit or is it ? The rest of the field are showing $7.00+ to win so there's a chance of a great divvy if the fave gets rolled.

Hard to pick a star match this week but The Kauri Kats seem rather rambunctious before their clash with table leaders The Ferdies which features half of the 'Serendipitous Six" whose records may be under threat. The Turbos are looking to bridge that 3-point gap to a Finals berth when they take on the Auckland Blues who boast an aggregate less than $50 better than that of the Manawatu lads. A HTH clash between respective big guns Pete and Our Maizcay could be the feature of this encounter.

The Magpies will be hoping to use some sort of home advantage to repel an improved Chiefs franchise. It's pretty much "must win" time for the Chiefs from here on in so I'm expecting some sort of tactical approach by the Waikato boys.

Lastly the Highlanders still with two Jokers up their sleevies are looking to hunt down those pesky Swamp Foxes placed 6 points above them and nestled (for now) in a Finals berth. A mighty battle looks likely with the top 3 of the Magnificent Seven all featuring. Bonus points may abound.

Gee is looking to break his duck on a secretive Squirrel while Magnificent Seven leader Howie will face another member of the Jenkins household this week with the Ginger Minger trying to out-perform the old man (one winner will achieve that 😹)

Lastly I would remind all Captains about Joker Rules, so work out your strategies with your team. It's quite easy to end up being unable to play your Triple Joker if you get it wrong.

A final 4 spot looks assured, as the Turbos have played their 3X, and I don't think the Highlanders and KK's are playing well enough to beat you out of that top 4.

Once you make it to that final 4, then anything can and will happen

Had the tactical approach last week PJ , with the Triple Joker play . Our 2nd Minus One Score of the year for the Chiefs. We can go backwards better than forwards it seems lol 😉.

Magpies are back too,  they are tough as nails . Wonder if the Ferdies will be cheering for the Chiefs so they can hold the Comp lead from these ready to swoop Maggies ?    We'll do our best to hold them off PJ , but can't promise anything 😆🤣🏇🏇 ..   Ian has to -out-swoop these ones .
