PWJ
ROUND 3 - Saturday August 19 We kick off in the Winter-less North straight into the Ruakaka card from the opener with a couple of maidens thrown in to test ya. After the day's 3yo feature it's on the plane to Sydney (currently raining and a heavy8) with 3 fascinating quality handicaps and then we end the day with the two big WFA contests with a ton of familiar faces kicking off new campaigns - tread carefully ! Anything could happen in that final race at Caulfield...... Last week's devastators The Magpies take on the table-topping unbeaten Blues in the clash of the day while the unbeaten Ferdies will be tested by another top 4 side - The Highlanders. The Turbos got their first win last week but they will have a strong challenge to be sure from a winless Swamp Foxes who nevertheless have the 2nd best aggregate in the comp so far. Finally the Kauri Kats will enjoy the benefit of a home tie against a winless Chiefs outfit who will be desperate to show some rapid improvement. Hard to pick a Head-to-Head of the Round but a couple of clashes in the Ferdies v Highlanders battle are spiced up with in-form contestants - Maurice vs Midnight Caller and Howie taking on the scorer (thank goodness he didn't draw Geoff!) - with all four unbeaten thus far. Max and Steve P with 4 losses between them will NOT want to be winless after 3 rounds so expect a torrid battle in that one. Max must make good on his local track advantage.... Remember you must have at least 6 different picks (of 20) for those who post after their opponent Please post on time. Let's have some fun and note the closing time... Close off at 11.50am (NZ time) Races are: 1. Ruakaka R1 - 12.50pm - Entain - NZB Pearl Series Race - $35k, 1600m, fillies/mares R75 BM 2. Increasingly 'Desparate' PJ , but seems unlikely to show any rapid improvement 😁. Wet track or dry, the Chiefs legs ain't what they used to be. Double RRobert (legend of the sport, and congrats for the fine tipping mate) already at the 'maximum' 10 out of 10 winners last week , and then scored a rather miserly -1 points for that effort. due to the amount of lead in the saddlebags. Weight can stop a train 😆. Needed to draw against Max while on the 'synthetic'(s), to have some hope ? 😂

Maximus
Max must make good on his local track advantage.... No pressure. Poor Max wishes to point out that, while Ruakaka is certainly the nearest racetrack to him, and certainly the best winter racing surface in the country, bar none ... it is a fair old drive to the course from Maxi's magnificent Mustelidan burrow estate.
