Race 9 - Gosford R6

1st - 9 Forbidden Love W-$2.10

2nd - 4 The Face Q-$7.20

Scr: 2,8

14 on the winning hot fave including the two leaders as well as Stevie (up two places with a BB to 4th) and TC who has finally broken clear of Virgil with a BB. BBs landed by Geoff, Rocky and Wandering while Richie labelled the quinella and Howie, Ray and PJ bagged BB quinellas (all hoping The Face could have just held on!). Wandering & NG locked in a close H-T-H. Last race picks in brackets for top 13. The top trio all have BBs to play in the last so anything could happen...

Round 4 - Tuesday Dec 29

Race 10 - Gosford R7

1st - 6 Threeood W-$4.40

2nd - 13 Oakfield Missile Q-$88.60

Scr: 8,12(L),15,17,18

I'll say one thing first - I think the site crashed because Roland had a BB on Oakfield Missile 😆 !! Only 4 tipped the Joe Pride winner in the last. Von Smallhausen bagged a BB to cement his victory for the day while Jen and Craig landed BBs to make it into the points at the expense of Geoff and Rex. Ian broke a 7  race losing streak to find the final winner also. Early leader Midnight Caller, whose 6 winners was only bettered by VS, took 2nd while Rob's serious study paid off with a 3rd placing. Craig's last race success saw him wrest the H-T-H win away from Pete. Points table to follow soon.

The ever consistent Richie picked up 17 points today and it was enough to put him into the lead over Gordy and Howie who still share second after an identical points haul today. Geoff, failed to score a point today and slips to 4th where he is joined by Rob.  Dancing Show is now 6th after a good return today while the day's hero - Von Smallhausen - has made it into the top 10. At the half-way point now and the top 5 covered by just 5 points with a couple of crafty customers in the 50s and another half a dozen in the 40-49 points range.

I thought the upheld protest was incredibly weak. Watchmaker ran in considerably midway up the straight Chowdhoory continuing to whip right-handed despite the inward move, to bring it in proximity to Tradition,  who shifted out slightly but not nearly enough to warrant relegation especially when Chowdhoory never stopped riding Watchmaker out. Anything to get the favourite winning at these little meetings
