This week should be very interesting starting at Arawa Park, home of the beaten faves, and proceeding to Eagle Farm where the track could be one of the heaviest the venue has ever seen ! King Gee showed us how it's done last week. Who can wrest the title from him ? Simple format - 8 races (see below) - select one horse per race. If any of your horses win you are eliminated. Anyone can play. If your selection does not win you will be 'credited' the win price it was paying at tote close x 10. So if it was paying $8.10 at tote close you will be credited 81 points. For those who survive to the 8th race the Champion will be the competitor with the LOWEST points total. Scratchings must be replaced up to 15 mins before the first. Scratchings not replaced or late scratchings go on to the TAB sub. Just enter on this thread. No need to advice of your participation. Any questions please ask. COMP RACE 8 Friday, 13th May 2022 Following Wednesday’s announcement that emerging gun 3YO sprinter Mazu (Maurice) will represent The Star and Arrowfield Stud in both the 2022 and 2023 editions of The Everest, bookmaker Sportsbet reports that punters have decided the Triple Crown-owned has his hoof on the till for Saturday’s Doomben 10,000, which is now being run at Eagle Farm due to drainage issues. Mazu, unbeaten in his last five starts, is a firm $2.90 favourite for Saturday’s Eagle Farm Group 1 sprint over 1200m. War horse Shelby Sixtysix (Toronado) is at $35, but he is the second best supported after being chopped out when making his run in the $500,000 The Coast. His cult following is evidenced by the bet count, holding seven times more individual bets than Mazu. Kementari (Lonhro) and Count De Rupee (Real Impact) are on the third line at $9.00 and are the only other runners under double figures. “Shelby has a massive following, but Mazu is the one that is attracting the strong support.
