Penultimate Round for July sees us down in the 'Gong (Illawarra) where some good jockeys and stables are in attendance.

We kick off with a tricky maiden juvenile and then follow up with some even-looking restricted contests. The King of Grafton - Hesi - will take out July if no one can pin him back. It should be remembered though that Alan has already qualified for the Grand Final in December so the next highest non-qualifier as it stands, will go through. At the moment that is no less than Pete.

 Good luck !

Just select one horse per race to run a dividend-bearing placing. See original thread for rules. You MUST replace normal scratchings or your entry will be invalid. Anyone can join in

Gary was the January Champion, Rob our February Champ and Gordy the Top Dog for March and May while Hesi triumphed in April. Tassie Tiger qualified in May and Graeme was the King of June. Who will be the July Queen or King?

Silly fun fact: PJ bred Gallant Tess, the dam of #12 Noble Tess in comp race 1

Gallant Tess was the most successful daughter of Galileo bred during the Southern Hemisphere career of the greatest stallion in the world at the time of his demise.

Gallant Tess won two Gr2 races in Sydney and was Gr1 placed in the Champagne Stakes (to Mentality & Miss Finland), the George Main Stakes (to Mentality), the Chipping Norton Stakes (to Tuesday Joy and Vision and Power), the Epsom Hdcp (to Theseo) and the Coolmore Classic (to Typhoon Tracy).

did she leave anything good? Max notes she is a direct descendant of Mumtaz Begum, mother of Nasrullah.
