Close off at 10.40 a.m. (NZ time) - NOTE THE QUITE EARLY START

We make an early start with a tricky hurdle in the Whycatoooh as the Leitrim Lad roadshow rolls on (I know he has his followers) then a two-divvy Te Awamutu Cup - a double edged sword giving everyone a chance to get a trifecta under their belt but also a chance for a blank. Then we head down the Desert Road to the Palmy bog for a couple of reasonably wide open contests then it's on the plane to Tullamarine  where we run into our old pal So Si Bon (his 94th start) in a small field where I expect a few to strike the tri then comes a challenging 3yo contest and the biggest race of the day - the John Monash - to round matters off. Just 3 rounds left including this one to qualify for the Grand Final on July 29
